Ka Papa Mele Kauwela is a mele course series offered during the Summer for students of both the academy and community at large. To date, Ka Waihona A Ke Aloha has offered Ka Papa Mele Wahi Pana for six consecutive Summers, 2003 – 2008, Ka Papa Mele Inoa in the Summer of 2011, and, Ka Papa Mele Hīmeni Hawaiʻi in the Summer of 2022. These Summer mele courses were all taught by revered mele scholar Kimo Alama Keaulana. Presently, Ka Waihona A Ke Aloha stewards over 230 hours of video documentation of Keaulana teaching and sharing mo‘olelo for 618 mele from his personal collection.
